artmentofJustice.Thetrainingfocusedonevasivedrivingarresttacticsandqualifyingwithfirearms.LdFYouthExpoChiefFredMaulsonandWardenRogerMcGeshickparticipatedinthe2014YouthExpoatLacduFlambeauonMarch26.Theeventattractsmanycommu-nitymembersandisagoodopportunityforoutreach.GLIFWCofficershadtheGLIFWCairboatpresentandprovidedinformationalmaterialstoattendees.InadditiontoEnforcementLaTishaCoffinandOwenMaroneyfromGLIFWCstraditionalfoodsprogramMinoWiisinidaaLetsEatGoodwerealsopresentwithnutritionalinformation.IcecavesGLIFWCwardensassistedtheApostleIslandParkServicewithmonitoringtherecordnumberofvisitorstotheicecavesnearCornucopiaWisconsinthiswinter.Wellover100000visitorsfromallovertheworldmadetheirwaytothisnaturalwinterwonder.WardensmadetheGLIFWCairboataccessibleifneededandalsoprovideditsmobilecommandtraileraroundtheclockatMaryslandingincaseofemergencies.GLIFWCwardenswerealsopresentontheweekendstoassisttheParkServiceinassuringpublicsafety.Communityone-on-oneEnforcementOutreachOfficerHeatherNaigusdidatourofGLIFWCmemberreservationsrecruitingyouthforCampOnjiAkiingthissummer.ShetouchedbasewiththekidsattribalschoolsortribalBoysandGirlsClubs.Shesaidafirsthandaccountandalittleone-on-onehelpskidsandparentsunderstandwhatcampisallabout.Thecampisdesignedforabout40-50participants.BySueEricksonStaffWriterJohnGeisslerDirectorofBoulderLakeEnvironmentalCenterinMinnesotaworkswithMarandaMaulsonassheconstructsapairofsnow-shoes.Theworkshopattracted22attendeesandwasorganizedbyNikkiCroweFondduLacs13Moonsprogram.PhotobyHeatherNaigus
