Distribution

Flowering rush is native to Eurasia. It was introduced to North America around the late 1800s (White et al. 1993). It is now common along the St. Lawrence River Valley and Lake Champlain (Lavoie et al 2003), and is established in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin (Voss 1972, MINN 2004, WIS 2005). Recently it has been found outside cultivation as far west as Montana and Idaho (Haynes 1999, USDA-NRCS 2004).
